Sara Berti uses different materials, mainly bronze for sculptures, paper and canvas for graphic works and paintings. In 2005, still a student, she gained a commission to create a 5m sculpture for a public square, made of bronze and travertin stone, in Ferrara, Italy. After finishing the Academy in Bologna she started a series of investigations and was invited to international exhibitions on the topic of the body. Based on the famous Italian tradition of figurative sculpture, her work concentrates on showing the continuity between antique tradition and contemporary self-expression.
Sara Berti graduated as a sculptor from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, Italy. She lives and works in Sharjah/United Arab Emirates. Her works were shown in prestigious institutions in Italy, Hungary, Germany, Serbia, Denmark, Turkey, and in the United Arab Emirates. In 2011 she was amongst renowned artists and represented Italian art in Hungary for the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennial.
