The environmental artist Christoph Both-Asmus has dedicated his shown work to the forest guide Sergey Shaytarov who introduced him a while ago to a book by Yuri Schibnev titled “Stalking the Spotted Panther”.
People are nowadays very disconnected from nature, more than half of the world population lives in cities and has lost touch to animals and other organisms. Therefore, the artist is dedicated to show the beauty of biodiversity and tries to capture the beauty of nature and its efforts to preserve it.
For his new collage he connects his work to that of Yuri Schibnev by taking his photo of Amur leopards to reflect on the biological category of an indicator species that reflects a specific environmental condition.
Christoph Both-Asmus combines his art with ecology and questions what diagnose of ecosystem health can be understood by people.
